Phillip Moses Gray Memorial

Phil Gray attended Vallejo Junior College in Vallejo as a re-entry student and later became a counselor at Solano Community College. He was known as a very caring counselor. His wife Lorraine recalled that on more than one occasion, Phil brought home a student who needed a place to stay or was simply hungry for a meal. He and Lorraine helped create the Solano Community College Scholarship Foundation to recognize and reward the academic efforts of students and to help them continue their education. The Grays were instrumental in the work of the Scholarship Foundation for over forty years. This scholarship was established to encourage a re-entry male to pursue his academic dreams.
