Rachel Goodwin Memorial

Rachel Goodwin worked at Solano Community College as a classified employee for 17 years. While working in the physical education division she had direct daily contact with students. This access brought to her attention the needs of many young mothers and re-entry students. She dedicated the last 10 years of her employment to helping many of these students. She acted as a mentor, providing emotional support or a bag of groceries as they pursued their education at Solano and beyond. It was not unusual to find her bringing in food, clothing and toys for those students in need. This scholarship was set-up by her family and friends to keep her memory alive and to continue giving back to the Solano students she loved.
