Joshua A. Goodwin Scholarship

The Joshua A. Goodwin Scholarship was established to support students passionate about helping others and making a difference in this world. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well”. Joshua Goodwin was a Solano Community College student who passed away at a young age. He enjoyed helping others and wanted to make a positive impact to the lives of others. His family established this scholarship to keep his memory alive, and to fulfil Joshua’s dream of helping others.

To qualify for this scholarship, the student must be an SCC student enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) semester units, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0; or first time college must have a high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Also, the recipient must have an unmet financial need; verified by the SCC Financial Aid Office.
