Elizabeth Rodriquez Memorial
The Elizabeth Rodriquez Memorial was established by firend and family of Elizabeth Rodriquez, Elizabeth was born in Clayton, North Carolina in 1929 and died April 16, 2023 in Fairfeld, California. She had an adventurous childhood in North Carolina northern California. Her family lived in an abandoned bus while building their forst home in California from adobe bricks they made themselves. At the age of 14, during WW2, she was hired as a file clerk by the newly formed Oakland Kaiser Hospital. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1947. She earned degrees in Psychology and Zoology from UC Berkeley and in English from San Francisco State.
Elizabeth was a loyal and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a reader, a swimmer, a card player, and world traveler. She was an adjunct English professor at Solano Community College as well as at Sacramento State, UC Davis, and Los Medanos. She was a tireless advocate for her students.
