The George J. & Kenneth L. Laird Endowed Memorial Scholarship

The Laird Endowed Memorial Scholarship shall be awarded to a student in financial need pursuing a career in the healing arts/health sciences to include medicine, dentistry, nursing, or an advanced degree in clinical psychology/mental health, or physical therapy. Students pursing a medical degree with a declared major of biology, chemistry, or physics, or related major; and/or student-athletes in a qualified discipline that have completed their NCAA athletic eligibility shall be given priority for this scholarship. To qualify students must be currently enrolled in 12 units or more and have a cumulative college GPA of 3.5 or above. Incoming first time college students currently enrolled in 12 units with a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or above are also eligible.
If this scholarship is not awarded in the Fall to a current SCC student it may be awarded in the Spring to a student transferring to a UC to study in a program leading to an application for Medical School.
